Abstract

|
|
The technological level of prosthesis and orthosis could be determined by chosen materials. Many of required functions or specifications would rely on the properties of material. The materials would cover the many part of features of prosthesis and orthosis whatever a solid product which made of only one material or a complex one which made of various and composite materials. This is the aspect not only today but throughout history. So without enough understand of materials, anyone could not discuss prosthetics and orthotics adequately. Hence this article reviewed the prosthesis and orthosis through the material in perspective of history and features.
